Job Summary:

Create, manage, maintain, update and post core GIS products and data for Corporate and external use.

Analyze, interpret, evaluate and prioritize technical data from various sources in the creation and maintenance of GIS mapping products and databases, and generate related manuals to document appropriately.

Identify spatial patterns and relationships that will allow internal and external clients to make better-informed decisions._ _Provide technical advice, guidance and support to GIS & CADD technicians and GIS product clients.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Produce advanced cartographic and topographic maps, interactive web maps and apps, dashboards, story maps, surveys/questionnaires, and develop/use available data collection tools to produce visual information that can be used by the client.
  • Gather and identify analysis and mapping business requirements from a variety of clients.
  • Liaise with clients to provide quality, timely project support throughout the project life cycle.
  • Assist in the development and documentation of process workflows for maintaining and managing GIS data in ArcGIS Pro, Enterprise Portal and ArcGIS Online.
  • Coordinate, create and maintain all facets of data generation/maintenance including quality control, providing functional guidance to staff and generation of applicable documentation including associated database tables, related design files and geodatabases.
  • Create, maintain/update and post relevant datasets ensuring that the most current GIS information is available to all city staff.

Skills and Qualifications:


  • University degree or College diploma in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 35 years industryrelated experience.
  • Knowledge of ESRI ArcMap or ArcGIS/ArcGIS Pro an asset.
  • OLS (Ontario Land Surveyor)
  • AOLS Certificate of Registration, or GISP, or PMP accreditation an asset (but not required).
  • Ability to effectively troubleshoot technical and datarelated issues is essential.
  • Ability to manage time and balance multiple projects or tasks at once is required.
  • Primarily office environment with occasional travel between various City offices.

Hourly Rate/Salary:
$ 64, $ 85,952.00
