    To support us on our journey, Sinai Health System is looking for a Registered Nurse (Job Share) to support our Special Pregnancy Program - Fetal Medicine team at our Mount Sinai Hospital Campus.

    The Ontario Fetal Centre is a provincial/national referral centre offering services to high risk maternal and fetal populations. The program consists of an ambulatory clinic located at and University Avenue sites at Mount Sinai Hospital. The program is a collective service that provides fetal ultrasound, assessment, detection, in-utero therapy and treatment with the goal of optimizing the health of the fetus and mother. The program offers expertise in fetal anomalies and in-utero surgical intervention through its partnerships with Sickkids & Sinai Health System. Early detection, surgical consultation and intervention is provided to improve long-term neonatal outcomes for conditions including but not limited to preterm birth, fetal anomalies, placental health, and infectious diseases.

    The RN is responsible for coordinating care, developing complex care plans, performing complex fetal sonography (including abdominal, TVS and dopplers), assessment and interventions and assisting with fetal procedures, while supporting and teaching families. The nurse is also involved in obtaining obstetric/fetal ultrasound monitoring for both inpatients and outpatients within the Women's & Infants' Program (Triage, Labour & Delivery, Antenatal Unit, etc.). Additionally, nurses are engaged in program planning, quality improvement, education, and professional development activities within the program.

    Job Requirements
  • Current registration in good standing with the Ontario College of Nurses
  • Current BCLS
  • BScN (preferred)
  • Current ARDMS certification in OBGyn/Physics Applicants that have not completed this certification may be considered however as a condition of hire, must be
  • successfully completed within 2 years from hire
  • Minimum of 1-2 years recent experience performing fetal ultrasound (preferred)
  • Minimum of 1-2 years high-risk perinatal nursing in an ambulatory setting (preferred)
  • Well-developed maternal-fetal physical assessment skills
  • Organized and detail orientated
  • Knowledgeable in fetal development, cardiology, hematology, nephrology, infectious diseases and placental health
  • Experience as a Labour & Delivery/Antenatal inpatient nurse (preferred)
  • Experience in supporting families through perinatal loss (preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to carry out complex psychosocial individual and family assessments
