Christie Gardens is seeking an individual who will thrive in our unique continuum for seniors.

This position involves housekeeping for the common areas as well for the independent living residents, and requires weekend and holiday availability.

Qualifications:

Three doses of the COVID19 vaccine
Previous experience working in housekeeping in the retirement, nursing home or hotel industry
Must be able to work weekdays as well as weekends and holidays during the day (there are no evening shifts)
Strong customer service skills
Excellent English communication skills, verbal and written.
Ability to cultivate a feeling of responsibility for the upkeep and daily cleanliness of the building

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain a clean and sanitary environment in your assigned areas
Clean, disinfect, all public areas of the facility focusing on high touch surfaces in resident rooms and common areas
Help wash residents personal laundries on a daily basis
Clean residents' suites as well as common rooms such as dining rooms, corridors, washrooms and stairwells
Vacuum / mop corridors and sanitize handrails
Check sitting areas/lounges daily and ensure seats are all straightened up; remove any items that don't belong there and ensure place is presentable
Collect garbage / recycling in residents rooms and replenish supplies
Request and put away supplies on a weekly basis; keep custodian room clean, organized and clutter free.
