Description

Summary:

The Carpenter is responsible for constructing residences.

Knowledge of residential construction and remodeling trades, practices, procedures, techniques, tools and equipment, materials, specifications, quality control, cost control, and safety.

The Carpenter must be proficient at the following tasks:

trim work, hang doors, drill and set door hardware, set windows, layout for stairs and common rafters, read blueprints, utilize appropriate math skills, able to read blueprints, and must possess mathematical skills and analytical skills necessary to do material estimates.

Frame the building including doors and windows
Put up siding
Finish the building and ceiling
Put in flooring
Put in porches and grounds
Build stairs and other items
Build other items as required
Operate and maintain carpentry tools and equipment
Assist with the delivery of other related municipal services
Keep a daily log of tasks
Respect and respond to direction given by lead-hand(s)
Perform renovations as required
Perform drywall, boarding, taping and sanding
Set up scaffolding as needed
Perform other related duties, including minor duties of other trades where certification is not required and the work does not exceed own limitation
Understand and comply with all Policies and Procedures

$25.00-$35.00 per hour
