What you will do:

We are looking for an Intermediate Software Development Engineer in Test with a specialization in Javascript or Golang and who has a passion for delivering quality products.

Working within cross-functional teams and alongside the Senior SDET, this position will advocate and advance the automation testing standards and practices across our growing Engineering department.

As an Intermediate SDET you will participate in the development, execution, and maintenance of automation tests and test coverage.

You will also mentor other Engineers and QA interns in how to write tests in our testing framework, review PRs for test coverage and constantly work to make it easy for others to include tests on every piece of work before it merges.

How you will make an impact:

• Work cross-functionally with Engineers, Product Management and UX Design to ensure a smooth, continuous deployment of quality changes to our products
• Reduce manual testing efforts for ongoing development team work as you migrate us towards full automation test coverage on each piece of work before it merges and ships
• Identify gaps in test coverage, prioritize them and then work to close them
• Develop test strategies, plans, and maintain automation test data
• Develop and continuously improve automated tests as new system features and enhancements are developed
• Assist in the identification, selection, and implementation of tools, technologies, and practices that support the overall QA process
• Document and mentor other Engineers in the use of our testing frameworks
• Contribute to accurate time estimates for automation test development

How you will grab our attention:

Education

• BA/BS degree in engineering, computer science or related field

Required Experience & Skills:

• 4+ years of experience working in QA, with at least 3 years writing Unit tests in Golang or Javascript
• Experience is only required in one of the two languages, we're happy to help teach the other
• Unit tests for Golang in the Go Testing package or any other framework (i.e. Testify, Goconvey, Ginkgo, etc)
• Unit tests for React and React Native apps in Jest
• Strong, well thought out opinions on test coverage and how to replace manual testing with automated tests
• Prior experience working in an agile, cross functional development team
• Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
• High attention to detail, great communication and strong sense of professionalism

Additional Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience with Continuous Integration and Test Pipelines (such as Github Actions, Travis CI or Jenkins)
• Experience in both Javascript and Golang
• Experience working with remotefirst distributed teams

The starting base pay for this position is $90,000 per year in our lowest geographic cost of living market and is dependent upon many factors such as location, experience, skills, and training.

Base pay is only one part of the total compensation package offered to employees in recognition of their hard work and is determined within a range to allow for growth and development within a role.
