What You'll Be Doing:


Job Summary:

Generally responsible for total delivery of services safely, on time, within performance budget and meeting quality expectations on moderately complex projects.

Work at this level requires progressive experience in construction management and involves utilization of project controls for cost, schedule and quality of projects.

This work will be performed under mínimal supervision.


Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Assist with Scheduling, Planning, and Communication to all necessary project stakeholders
  • Coordinate working hours with contractors and plant operations then plan work accordingly.
  • Enforce and track contractor personnel sign in and sign out from site.
  • Ensure on site contractor personnel have completed plant safety orientation.
  • Enforce and advise contractors of safety rules.
  • Provide support to assist with coordination, startup, and project turnover
  • Assist Contractors with design questions by communicating regularly with Project Manager and Engineering design firm personnel.
  • Report and escalate issues to appropriate and Engineering personnel.
  • Provide auditing and verification checks on completed contractor work.
  • Conduct safety training as needed for all contractor personnel entering the site and maintain a list of trained personnel.
  • Ensure all contractors working on projects comply with all "Contractor Work Rules" keeping a record of any violations and corrective action.
  • Document and report any unsafe acts or injuries immediately.
  • Ensure that the contractors clean the construction area on a daily basis and work with a general good housekeeping practice in mind.
  • Document any construction scope changes for review and approval by the PM. Includes validation of any Change Order time with initials prior to forwarding to PM.
  • Maintain overall project schedules to ensure milestones are met and equipment and construction services are delivered in a timely manner.
  • Supervise and coordinate all project personnel activities entering the site.
  • Coordinate all construction work with production, operations and maintenance personnel as needed to maintain an efficient operation.
  • Provide construction QC to ensure all materials, fabrication, installation and workmanship is of a quality expected and demanded by site.
  • Ensure all required NDT is performed and witness test.
  • Track incoming equipment and materials and ensure it is stored safely in a secure area.
  • Cross check contractor construction schedule with provided material and equipment to ensure parts are available as needed. Maintain Daily reports that include contractors on site, personnel quantity, work performed and problems/solutions. Summarize work hours for comparison to contractor invoicing records. Daily report to include pictures of construction progress.

Ideal Background:


Education:
High School diploma or equivalent is required.

Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Construction Science, Building Science or related field from an accredited university is highly preferred.


Licensing:
General Contractors License is highly preferred.


Experience:
This position requires a minimum 5 years of relevant industrial construction management or project related experience.

  • Ability to perform duties while wearing personal protective equipment such as a fireretardant jumpsuit, safety glasses, ear plugs and hard hat.
