What can I expect to do in this role?: You will:
- Lead and execute social media strategy while developing, producing, and distributing compelling social and digital media content on, but not limited to, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc., as well as daily management of each social channel and fostering strong online communities focused on events and happenings for the business units within the St. Lawrence Parks Commission (SLPC).
- Oversee and enhance SLPC's websites in terms of design, content development, management, and maintenance, while collaborating with internal teams and external partners.
- Embody the SLPC's equity, diversity and inclusion principles while interacting with staff and guests.
How do I qualify?:
Mandatory:
- Valid Ontario Class G driver's licence or equivalent to drive on Ontario highways to attend all historic sites properties on a frequent basis during operating season.
Knowledge and Experience:
You have knowledge of and demonstrated experience with:
- evolving digital media and marketing landscapes to explore best practices and stay up to date with relevant and new platforms.
- web and/or social media metrics to analyze results of social and digital media initiatives as well as search engine optimization to develop content for best results.
- competitive intelligence and research.
- Microsoft Suite programs in PC/Windows environment, User interfaces, browser compatibilities, to ensure optimal delivery of social media initiatives.
- World Wide Web, including its capabilities, advances, opportunities, and technical requirements to develop and support the creative elements of SLPC's websites.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
You have:
- strong oral communication skills to provide advice and recommendations on social/digital media approaches to achieve objectives, liaise with external vendors/advertising agencies.
- interpersonal skills to collaborate with industry and regional travel partners, participate in meetings to discuss objectives, messages, and audiences.
- organizational skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously, meet tight deadlines, in a fast-paced environment.
- planning, project management and coordination skills to manage concurrent projects, schedules and timelines.
- problem solving skills to resolve quality and delivery issues.
- creativity and demonstrated successful immersion in social/digital media forums to provide appropriate content and management of initiatives.
Analytical and Research Skills:
You have proven analytical and research skills to:
- develop content for web and social media.
