Pay Grid:
Professional, $21/hr


Reporting to:
Manager of Housing

Summary of Duties:


Taking direction and guidance from the Housing Manager and Director of Infrastructure, this role is responsible for processing the accounting activities related to Housing projects and work.

This role will also support the Manager and housing team on other administrative tasks.


Key Deliverables and Expectations:


  • Maintains confidentiality on all matters related to the affairs of the Lil'wat Nation.
  • Takes a lead role in ensuring tenant/rental agreements are up to date.
  • Works with the accounting team on providing notices and letters for collections, purchase orders and invoices.
  • Inputs and provides all work orders for tracking by house, phase and date. Tracks progress of work orders.
  • Manages the housing waitlist.
  • Escalates outstanding issues to Manager when needed.
  • Ensures proper record keeping and file management including current/active and archives.
  • Follows key procedures to ensure a fair process for tenants and homeowners.
  • Support Manager as needed with annual audit and implementation of recommendations.
  • Support team in other housing related tasks.

Experience and Attributes:
  • High school graduation required.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in First Nations band housing or related field.
  • Strong computer, organizational file management and multitasking skills required.
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate information to a variety of stakeholders: community members, internal departments, staff and leaders.
  • Communicates difficult or unpopular messages, when required, in a firm but compassionate manner.
  • Understands the needs, concerns and demands of a First Nations community.
  • Cleared Criminal Record Check.
