Rate of Pay:
$Competitive - Please note, this is a unionized work environment.

Working Hours:
Rotating shifts, various hours/days of the week.

Duties and Responsibilities:

While duties vary by assignment, the responsibilities of this role may include, but are not limited to:

Protecting property, and sensitive information. Absolute discretion and confidentiality are required.
Operating HRP phone systems. Fielding and transferring calls professionally, while interacting with both members of the public, and internal HRP employees.
Comfort in learning/utilizing CPIC (Canadian Police Information Centre), at the direction/request of HRP site work instructions.
Responding to/working to provide Officers with requests for information.
Providing exceptional facetoface customer service in a public interfacing setting.
Ensuring the health and safety of self and others in the workplace.
Adhering to CNS' Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies, systems, and practices (and those of the Clients we serve).
Respecting
CNSpolicies, Site Work Instructions, and Site Supervisor's direction
Other functions may include further reception/administration, reporting, the release of property, and access control.

WHO WE'RE SEEKING

Eligibility Requirements

Be aged 19 or older;
Be a Permanent Resident of Canada or a Canadian Citizen;
Not have a criminal record for which a pardon has not been granted;
Be able to provide fingerprints and complete a criminal record check;
Be able to communicate effectively in English (the ability to work in both official languages would be considered an asset).

Qualifications and Skills

Key qualifications and skills to be successful include, but are not limited to:

Mental alertness with an ability to:

- react calmly, quickly, and appropriately in any situation
- concentrate and remain alert for up to 12 hours
- communicate observed characteristics/behaviour (good memory)
- demonstrate problem-solving and sound judgement

Physical fitness with an ability to:
climb multiple flights of stairs with ease

- remain seated for long periods
- remain standing for long periods

Superior attention to detail with excellent verbal communication skills
Excellent customer service skills
Computer literacy is required, while an aptitude for continued learning is an asset
Achievement of First Aid certification
Successful completion of the Commissionaires Security Officer Course (online and inclass)

Although not required to apply, the following attributes are considered assets:

Use of Force Certified
Veterans of the Canadian Armed Forces or RCMP
Nonviolent Crisis Intervention trained
Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset
