Analyst, Asset & Environmental Sustainability to join our National Operations team in Toronto.

In the role of Analyst, Asset & Environmental Sustainability, you will support and elevate the performance of our national workspace portfolio in the areas of environmental performance (Energy, Carbon, Water and Waste), Net Zero Carbon Plan, Climate Resiliency, and Building Sustainability Certifications.

What will you do?:


  • Support and elevate the environmental performance (energy, carbon, water, and waste) of our national building portfolio; this includes data analysis, strategic planning, business case development, target settings, manage energy and waste audits and retrofit projects, etc.
  • Manage our automated utility data collection program and utility benchmarking platforms (Energy Star Portfolio Manager and Measurabl)
  • Collaborate with our internal teams and thirdparty partners to identify and implement waste diversion strategies
  • Support the development of Allied's Net Zero Carbon Plan
  • Conduct and/or facilitate tenant engagement and user workshops
  • Support our Corporate Planning and Sustainability team on annual ESG reporting and report publication; Assist with GHG emissions, energy, water and waste data collection, compilation, and aggregation and relevant KPIs
  • Ensure compliance of local and provincial utility regulations and requirements
  • Support the delivery of thirdparty building certification programs
  • Support the development of Allied's climate risk and resiliency assessment and climate change mitigation strategies for national workspace portfolio
  • Support with sourcing, negotiating, and managing utility purchasing contracts

What are we looking for?:


  • 03 years of work experience in a related role and/or similar responsibilities
  • People orientated, excellent teamwork and relationship management skills
  • Passion in building energy efficiency and sustainability
  • Ability to multitask and manage conflicting priorities
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Selfstarter; works well independently under mínimal supervision
  • Ability to travel within Canada, as required
  • Undergraduate degree in building science, sustainability or relevant mechanical/electrical/architectural engineering programs and demonstrated continuous learning

Would be an asset:


  • Fluency in French
  • Knowledge and experience in energy modelling and/or working with building automation and control system
  • Knowledge and experience with Building Certification Systems (I.e., LEED, BOMA, WELL, etc.)
  • Familiar with design and/or operation of building mechanical, electrical and lighting systems
  • Knowledge and experience in conducting ASHRAE level I and II Energy Audits
  • Knowledge and experience with managing contractors on energy retrofit projects
  • Experience with Energy Star Portfolio Manager or similar benchmarking tool
  • Professional accreditation(s) such as LEED GA/AP, Certified Energy Manager (CEM), ASHRAE BEMP, etc;
  • Knowledge of ESG reporting frameworks (I.e., GRESB, GRI, SASG, TCFD, UNSDG)
