    As a Homie, you will make an impact by

    We are looking for an experienced, mission-driven User Researcher who wants to make a difference in the lives of the small business owners and employees we serve. You'll report directly to our Head of Design & Research, and be an integral part of growing our research culture and practice at Homebase. You'll partner with engineers, product managers, and designers to shape the Homebase roadmap and deliver meaningful outcomes for our customers.

    At Homebase, each product designer and product manager is responsible for researching and talking to customers directly. We also need a deeply experienced user research expert who can lead large, strategic initiatives. That's you

    You'll look proactively across our different product areas to identify learning opportunities. You'll run those studies with qualitative and quantitative methods, and work with colleagues to translate your findings into actionable insights. You'll embody our value of No Day Wasted, identifying the quickest way to find high-quality answers to our research questions.

    You'll take a leadership role in identifying user research best practices and help create the long-term vision for the Homebase Design & Research Team, influencing your colleagues through qualitative and quantitative data as well as generally accepted best practices.

    As a Homie, you are a bar raiser, which means

  • You have a strong background in qualitative and quantitative research methods, early-stage concept testing, and broad discovery
  • You enjoy supporting your colleagues in learning best practices for research.
  • You've owned research projects from concept to implementation through sound planning, execution, and influencing product roadmaps.
  • You balance user needs with business impact
  • You are comfortable navigating ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
  • You've demonstrated that you can balance speed and quality, keeping our customers' needs central to your work.
  • You demonstrate a sense of ownership and accountability for the team's work and outcomes — the good and the bad.
  • Have a learning mindset. You are sensibly curious with a desire to learn continuously.
  • You demonstrate humility, knowing that our work isn't about us; it's about building in service to our customers. You share credit with team members and welcome collaboration, ideas, and feedback.
  • You bring 8+ years of experience leading user research in a consumer-grade environment
  • You have an understanding of the unique needs of B2B research is a plus
  • You have a formal education in user experience design
  • You are familiar with Figma
