As a Polypropylene Rail Operator at Savage, you will:

Thoroughly inspect rail cars, primarily hoppers cars
Perform rail switching of rail hopper cars
Operate Car Mover to index hopper cars through wash tracks and loading tracks.
Wash and dry empty rail hopper cars.
Load rail hopper cars with bulk polypropylene pellets.
Handle officerelated duties, including some data entry.
Perform general maintenance ("bolt on bolt off"), cleaning, housekeeping, and snow removal.

This is what we need from you:

Possession of or working towards a Power Engineering 4th class certificate
Technical understanding of plant processes, equipment, and automation
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Attention to detail and welldeveloped interpersonal skills
Availability to work a 12hour rotating shift schedule (days and nights)

We are seeking individuals who have:

A sound understanding or aptitude to learn the loading of bulk plastics
Understanding or willingness to learn railroad operations and safety
Mechanical inclination
Ability to attend and pass all tests associated with jobrelated coursework, including IROR, CROR, WHMIS, TDG
A high school diploma
Preferred experience in the petrochemical field or other industrial environment
Asset: Locomotive operation and Railcar Mover operation experience

Here are some of the Physical Requirements:

Ability to work outside in any condition
Must pass a preemployment physical, reference checks, drug screen, motorvehicle report and criminal background check
Must be able to climb on and off the equipment, ascend and descend a ladder
Must be able to stand, kneel or crawl
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs frequently
