Medical Records Technician to support our
Health Records Services department.


Responsibilities


Responsible for the timely and accurate coding, assembly and abstraction of patient related information as well as provides technical support for the release of patient information.

Maintains the incomplete and delinquent chart counts and supports the co-ordination of chart audits and data quality audits on patient information.

Member of the team delivering the Electronic Health Record to Bridgepoint Active Healthcare


Job Requirements

  • Diploma from an accredited community college in health information management required
  • 2years related health records experience in a hospital environment is desired
  • Active member of the Canadian Health Information Management Association
  • Demonstrated skills with medical records maintenance in a health care environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of related hospital policies and procedures, privacy legislation and the Public Hospital Act
  • Demonstrated knowledge of an electronic health record
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Knowledge of analysis and processing of data required
  • Satisfactory work performance and attendance record
