Ramkey is looking for an experienced permanent, full-time Accounting Assistant responsible for the timely completion of supportive tasks in our Accounting Department.

Responsibilities:


  • Calculate, prepare and issue documents related to accounts such as bills, invoices, inventory reports, account statements and other financial statements using computerized (Sage) and manual systems
  • Code, total, batch, enter, verify and reconcile transactions such as accounts payable and receivable, payroll, purchase orders, cheques, invoices, cheque requisitions, and bank statements in computer system
  • Complete year end audits and submit tax remittance forms, workers compensation forms, pension contribution forms and other government documents
  • Post journal entries and reconcile accounts, prepare trial balance of books, maintain general ledgers
  • Record and process wage transfers, distribution of divisional expenses
  • Create and maintain financial records and balance various accounts using manual and computerized systems
  • Compile budget data and documents based on estimated revenues and expenses and previous budgets
  • Respond to customer & vendor inquiries, maintain good customer relations and solve problems
  • Followup with outstanding A/R & A/P actions, resolve PO's and payment discrepancies
  • Demonstrate compliance; keep apprised of latest developments related to the accounting profession
  • Protect Company's value by keeping information confidential
  • As required, assist with preparing documents for the President and Accountant
  • Perform related clerical duties, such as word processing, maintaining filing and record systems, faxing and photocopying

Qualifications:


  • Skilled in the use of Sage. Experience with other accounting software considered an asset
  • 45 years previous experience in accounting, data entry or bookkeeping an asset.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices including the recording, analysis and reporting of financial information
  • Knowledge of office administrative and clerical practices and procedures
  • Strong customer service experience; must be able to form relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Diploma with a specialization in accounting and/or the equivalent work experience
  • Fluent in English

Salary:
$23.00-$25.00 per hour
