The Opportunity

Full Time – FTE 1.0 – 77.5 Hours Biweekly

Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.

Reporting to the Program Manager, Rehabilitation, the Occupational Therapist (OT) is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating occupational therapy interventions for long term care residents and leading the site's therapy team of Aides and Assistants. The OT functions within the Mission, Vision, and Values of SCF and the standards of professional practice and ensures departmental compliance with continuing care health service standards, accommodation standards, employment and safety-related legislation, codes, and regulation, and SCF policies and procedures. The OT acts and ensures the therapy team acts as a resident advocate and provides support to the residents and families in an environment that promotes a state of wellness, independence, and person-centered care. In their practice, the OT is committed to continuous quality improvement.

Consider applying if you are currently registered and have a practice permit with Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT) and can read, write, and speak English fluently, clearly, and efficiently. A minimum of two (2) years' experience as an OT is preferred, however new graduates are welcome to apply.

You have excellent interpersonal and leadership skills and can work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team to advocate and promote well-being for residents. Time management skills are essential as is flexibility to accommodate resident needs.
