    Qualifications and Experience
    :


    • extensive academic training, professional preparation, and qualifications in teaching all areas of this assignment
    • knowledge of, and demonstrated application of the Ministry of Education's current philosophy, teaching practices, and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as applied to all areas of this assignment
    • demonstrated effective ability to select, adapt, modify, and deliver instructional materials to personalize instruction and meet the individual needs of students
    • demonstrated ability and commitment to Indigenizing curriculum using the Frist Peoples Principles of Learning
    • willingness to use district and Ministry data sets (i.e., ACT, SNAP, EDI, FSA, PM/RR) to identify student need and drive informed teaching practice and planning
    • demonstrated knowledge and experience with applying effective strategies to support the development of literacy skills; preference will be given to individuals with successful experiences with balanced literacy and Guided Reading
    • knowledge and demonstrated ability in teaching a balanced numeracy program to primary students including the use of S.N.A.P.
    • demonstrated effective ability to utilize a variety of assessment processes that allow students to show what they know (assessment for, as, of learning) and that allow the teacher to differentiate instruction to meet the collective and individual learning needs of students
    • demonstrated ability to effectively address student lagging skills, and demonstrated effective classroom organizational skills to meet student social and emotional needs
    • demonstrated ability to effectively apply trauma-informed practice
    • proven effective ability, commitment, and willingness to work collectively with colleagues, support staff, parents and administration in order to support all students through an RTI framework and student-centered model
    • demonstrated effective ability to utilize proactive classroom management strategies in order to promote a positive and effective learning environment in the classroom and throughout the school; supporting PBS, school-wide initiatives and Code of Conduct.
    • proven ability to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with students, staff, and parents
    • proven ability as an effective team member leading school-wide initiative, willing to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and administration (School Based Team model)
