This position reports to the Regional Director, Business Development — Quebec.

This role provides internal support to the Business Development team in developing research and innovation projects with the academic and private sectors.

Responsibilities:

Work closely with members of the team to ensure the quality of the research proposals submitted by applicants
Follow up with applicants (college and university professors, students, postdocs, industry and community partners) to assure completeness of the proposals and help them build their research budgets
Populate and maintain our Client Relationship Management (CRM) database with contacts' and organizations' info
Answer questions about Mitacs programs coming from students and other stakeholders
Support the identification of researchers (professors and students/postdocs) with the right expertise for the projects, namely by searching expertise databases and actively working with members of the team who are anchored in postsecondary establishments
Provide support to the Business Development team as needed, by liaising with other Mitacs departments

Skills and qualifications:

Recent MSc (within one or two years)
Research experience
Excellent communication skills
Experience in reviewing research proposals
Enthusiasm
Be a team player
Desire to pursue a career outside of research and academic
Ability to work in a fastpaced, highperformance culture
Knowledge of written and spoken English is required in this role as you will interact with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders located across Canada
