Shop Foreman


Location:
Grande Prairie, AB

The Shop Foreman will oversee the daily maintenance operations and management of the Field Solutions maintenance shop.

They will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of shop personnel, securing resources (parts/contractors/etc.) for all maintenance tasks, and ensuring that work is completed efficiently, safely, and according to established standards.

What You'll Be Doing:


  • Overall responsibility for all day to day operations through the shop/yard
  • Organize shop end ensure efficient workflow. Responsible for overall condition
  • Organize and schedule personnel/contractors/resources necessary for current and immediately upcoming maintenance tasks
  • Execute all maintenance processes and help integrate improvements where appropriate
  • Source parts as needed and ensure accurate inventory is maintained
  • Ensure weekly consumables and field requisitions orders are completed and outstanding/back orders are addressed
  • Direct Coordinators on daily tasks
  • Provide guidance to Coordinators on minor repairs
  • Assist as required

Who We're Looking For:


  • Extensive experience (typically 5+ years) in a similar role within a mechanical, or industrial environment
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team
  • Excellent knowledge of shop operations, repair procedures, and industry best practices
  • Strong organizational and problemsolving abilities.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Additional experience in oilfield, sand or industrial work is an asset;
  • Selfstarter with the ability to proactively manage workload;
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists;
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite;
  • Must be able to meet deadlines and successfully handle time pressures and stress;
  • Ability to hold valid tickets including: H2S, First Aid, Fall Arrest, WHMIS, TDG, Wilderness Awareness
  • Ability to travel to oil and gas completions work sites and support business units,

We are looking for individuals with a hardworking attitude, who have working knowledge of tools and mechanics. Individuals must be self-motivated and adaptable to change.

Other things that will help you succeed in this role include:


  • A mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to work with different personalities
  • Troubleshooting ability with multiple disciplines (hydraulics, electrical, mechanical, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of electrical control and power circuits (120V/480V power, 24V control).

Nice to Have:


  • First Aid & H2S certifications are not required but are considered an asset
  • Previous exposure to oilfield equipment and maintenance.
  • Exposure to automation or PLC controlled components.
