Supporting Volker Stevin Contracting Operations a
Dozer Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a dozer.

A Dozer Operator will push and level soil and control the direction and angle of equipment to move rocks and debris, as instructed.


General Responsibilities:


  • Operate a dozer and other heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
  • Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment; perform routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure smooth operation.
  • Understand, interpret and follow directions from supervisors as to required work area.
  • Operate dozer controls to regulate height and angle of a dozer blade and lower ripper to loosen packed soil to permit grading.
  • Operate other heavy equipment and other construction related duties as required.

Working Environment/Conditions:


  • Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat, and humidity.
  • Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 20 LBS on a regular basis.
  • Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required.
  • Use of sunscreen, long sleeves, and appropriate headgear is recommended.
  • Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Class 5 Driver's License; a clean Driver Abstract
  • Minimum 2 years of experience within the road construction industry

  • Knowledge of road construction materials, road construction processes and industry requirements
  • Knowledge of a Dozer and other heavy equipment
  • Understanding of computerized controls and electronics
  • Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 LBS on a regular basis.

Location:
Must be willing to relocate at your expense to Calgary Area for the duration of the season.
