Flair Airlines is currently seeking a permanent, full-time
Corporate Controller to join our growing and ever-changing organization. The Corporate Controller is responsible for corporate accounting transactions including the GL and subledger reconciliations.

The Controller is responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining fiscal controls and processes in accordance with GAAP, IFRS, and SOX.


Primary Job Functions:


  • Manage a strong team of employees, including determination of optimal numbers, recruitment, retention, and development.
  • Develop, recommend, implement, and monitor all accounting and finance policies and procedures for the purpose of creating reliable and accurate financial information while minimizing financial risk.
  • Ensure disclosure controls, procedures, accounting policies, and related documentation are maintained.
  • Manage the corporate accounting and support the reporting functions for the organization by establishing processes and internal controls that ensure financial information integrity and compliance with regulatory requirements and financial reporting standards.
  • Identify, interpret, and implement new accounting and reporting requirements.
  • Communicate complex financial and accounting information to nonaccounting partners in clear and concise English.
  • Preparation and review of variance analysis and providing strategic financial advice and support to Senior Management and Executive teams to make sound business decisions.
  • Prepare and file appropriate reports with regulators, government, and other external stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Comply with provincial and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Manage daytoday coordination with external auditors, including quarterly reviews, annual financial statements, statutory audits, and compliance.
  • Participate in analysis and special projects related to business development, financing transactions, and other corporate level initiative.
  • Demonstrate a high performance, high discipline, safe, accountable, focused, innovative and achievementoriented, easy to do business with manner of working.
  • Support the SMS program through participation and reporting.
  • Such other duties as assigned by the organization from time to time.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or in a related area.
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in the finance department of a mid to large entity, including a minimum of four (4) years at a managerial level, demonstrating analytical, problem solving, and decisionmaking skills in managing moderate to complex financial and accounting issues.
  • A thorough knowledge and technical skill set of ASPE and IFRS reporting standards
  • Experience in SOX compliance required.
  • Must have a clear understanding of continuity, amortization, accretion, reconciliation, and lead sheet presentations.
  • Must be adept at encouraging entrepreneurial/innovative ideas and build consensus at all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated superior analytical capabilities, acute business sense, and sound judgment
  • Strong selfconfidence with excellent interpersonal and motivational skills
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal including the ability to communicate complicated accounting terminology, processes, and results to nonfinancial people in clear and concise words and reports.
  • Ability to secure and maintain appropriate airport security clearance, acceptable criminal record checks are required
