Warehouse Manager will be working in our Kitchener, ON wire cut cookie plant that produces 17 million cookies per week This state of the art facility operates with 4 highly automated production lines and possess a strong team oriented culture.

Job Scope:

Directs receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations. Oversees the efficient receipts, storage, service, and dispatch of materials and finished goods.

Maintains accurate inventory of inbound materials and outbound finished goods through monitoring of daily warehouse activities, cycle counts and audits.

Ensures warehouse in compliance with company's policies and vision.


Core responsibilities:


Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Trains and monitors performance of warehouse shipping and receiving employees.
  • Provides clear performance expectations and accountability to meet on time delivery and receiving requirements.
  • Ensures department metrics are established and delivered.
  • Oversees the maintenance of material handling equipment.
  • Sets up layout to ensure efficient space utilization.
  • Ensures that all HFS corporate programs and best practices are implemented.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Competencies & Knowledge:


Knowledge of:


  • Procurement, products, and production processes
  • Knowledge and experience with SAP or other large ERP systems

Skilled in:


  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong selfconfidence, strong will to drive change, excellent problemsolving skills and the ability to work with autonomy.
  • Must be accurate, detailoriented and strong decisionmaking skills.
  • Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives.

Ability to:


  • Maintain standards of health and safety, GMPs, hygiene, and security
  • Adhere to all warehousing, handling, and shipping legislation requirements.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and present information to employees, top management, suppliers, and transport companies.
  • Prepare annual budget.
  • Ability to calculate figures add, subtracts, multiply and divides in various units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Define problems collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, and/or schedule form.

Proficiency in:
MS Office Suite and SAP or other large ERP systems.


Work Environment:


  • Ability to work well with others in stressful situations and meet deadlines as necessary.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks.
  • Excellent keyboarding, recordkeeping, and followup skills.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment, while at the same time making sound decisions.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent in education, certifications and experience.
  • 5 + years supervisory experience leading a logistics department accountable for shipping, receiving, and inventory management in the Food Industry or manufacturing environment.
  • Green Belt or Black Belt certification a plus.
