Reporting to the Director, Clinical Supports and Services, and working in close collaboration with operational leaders, the Senior Planner is an experienced professional who provides support and leadership to plan strategic and integrated health service delivery initiatives within the Edmonton Zone Addiction and Mental Health (AMH) program.


Description:


The Senior Planner will provide strategic and/or service planning support and leadership to advance planning activities within the full continuum of AMH services ranging from child and adolescent services to geriatric services.

These services span 100+ programs and 3000+ staff working across multiple sites in the Edmonton Zone (including inpatient, community, residential, and outreach/mobile services).

The Senior Planner will support AMH health projects aimed at improving system accessibility and sustainability for all Albertans. The position will require continued adaptation in response to our evolving AMH and health
- systems. The Senior Planner will use their expertise and leadership in project planning/management and group facilitation to develop tools and resources that capture the vision and mission of Edmonton Zone AMH strategic planning, health service planning, and program development. This work will require engagement and collaboration with multiple clinical departments and external stakeholder groups to develop complex plans and frameworks for initiatives. In partnership with AMH senior leadership in the Edmonton Zone, the Senior Planner is responsible for the coordination, on-going monitoring, and reporting on progress for their assigned projects.

Required Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in a clinical role or community development function. A minimum of 3 years of project management experience in a health care or comparable environment.

A combination of education and experience will be considered, along with a demonstrated, clear pattern of professional and personal development.


Additional Required Qualifications:


Preferred Qualifications:

A master's degree in a health or management related discipline. Project management certification.

A minimum of five years progressively responsible experience in a planning, management, evaluation, quality improvement or clinical role in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity is preferred.

Healthcare or clinical/operational experience is preferred.
