HUMAN RESOURCES CONSULTANT
Department of Human Resources

(Contractual Position to March 15, 2024)


DUTIES


Reporting to the Manager, Policy and Organizational Effectiveness, the successful applicant is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and evaluation of workforce planning, programs, and policy initiatives, including detailed professional support and analysis using workforce data, and providing advice and guidance related to compensation methodologies.

Duties include researching and translating current, emerging, and future workforce requirements; critically analysing evidence based research on workforce issues and trends; independently conducting and completing surveys and market assessments; responding to internal and external requests for information related to workforce issues, compensation, and trends which are used for decision making; researching, drafting, and implementing employment policies, including leading policy committees and implementation education sessions; conducting environmental scanning and critically analyzing internal factors and issues; conducting stakeholder and policy consultations; assisting in departmental quality processes including assisting in the development, monitoring, and reporting performance indicators; supporting HR strategic initiatives and projects including project planning and post-implementation monitoring and evaluation; participating in committees and chairing policy working committees; collaborating with clients and stakeholders to develop strong strategic partnerships; and performing other related duties as required.


QUALIFICATIONS


Significant experience (5-7 years) in researching, planning, designing, implementing, and evaluating human resource programs and policies, and experience in conducting workforce analysis and detailed compensation analysis; graduation with a Master's degree in business administration or related area; or any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Experience and familiarity with quality improvement and performance indicator initiatives would be a definite asset.

Strong attention to detail, a demonstrated ability to critically analyze data and translate into recommendations, and experience using change and project management approaches is required.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and detailed analysis and reporting using large data sets is required. Knowledge of Banner HR or other HRIS systems would be an asset.


SALARY $62,280 - $84,928 per annum (Management and Professional)
