    The Developmental Disabilities Association has been enabling people with developmental disabilities to reach their full potential with expertise, integrity, respect, and conviction for over 60 years. We are a dynamic community living agency that provides over 50 community-based programs and services to children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families in the Vancouver and Richmond areas.     JOB TITLE: Accountant | #2126
    SERVICE AREA: Accounting
    LOCATION: Richmond, BC
    START DATE: As soon as possible
    TERM/STATUS: Permanent Full Time
    SCHEDULE/HRS: Monday to Friday 8:00-16:00 // 37.5 hours per week
    HOURLY WAGE: $ $33.49 as per collective agreement

    The Role


    This position assists in the smooth and efficient operation of the accounting department. The Accountant 1 performs accounting duties such as processing accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger account reconciliation.

    Requirements/Education/Experience

    • Completed 2 years of post-secondary courses in areas such as bookkeeping, accounting or business administration.
    • Accurate and efficient filing and data entry skills.
    • Minimum 2 years accounting experience in a computerized environment.
    • Demonstrated computer skills with SAGE ERP (SAGE 300) Excel and Word.
    • Proven analytical skills and communication skills – verbal and written.
    • Ability to work under pressure, and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
    • Criminal Record Clearance
    • Medical Clearance
    • Demonstrated competency in English
    • Basic computer literacy
    • Experience in social service field desirable.
    • Eligible to work in Canada
    • This position requires union membership.
