    About the Position
Production engineer interns are assigned to the production unit in the biodiesel or canola crushing facility in Lloydminster, Alberta. They gain first-hand exposure to leadership, equipment troubleshooting and dealing with the myriad of challenges in a facility that operates around the clock, 365 days per year. This experience offers first-hand knowledge of the plant processes, products and employees in the real word of manufacturing at ADM. Our program promotes the development of the student while providing a training ground for potential future employees. The internship will consist of four key components: people management, project management, application of engineering expertise and creating a safe work environment. The work is in a variety of plant settings in food processing plants. The job can be physically demanding at times. Production engineer interns must be capable of climbing ladders, working in tight spaces and entering confined spaces (including tanks and vessels). Some lifting is required. Interviews are completed before returning to school, bringing closure to the internship experience. After completing our internship program, a student should be prepared to return to campus with a new focus on learning through their application of real-world experience from ADM. Housing arrangements are driven by the needs of our interns. Potential candidates will be responsible for their own daily transportation during the program.
