Our 6,000 faculty and staff foster a vibrant, purpose-driven community, that celebrated 200 years of academic excellence in Job Summary The Faculty of Health is the second largest and one of the most complex Faculties at Dalhousie University, comprised of nine Schools/College, Healthy Populations Institute, Resilience Research Centre, Centre for Transformative Nursing and Heath Research, and in partnership with the Faculties of Medicine and Dentistry, the Centre for Collaborative Clinical Learning and Research. Reporting jointly to the Director, Research (FoH) and Director, Strategic Initiatives & Programs (ORS), accountable to the Associate Dean Research, Faculty of Health, the facilitator advises on and assists the FoH research community with the life cycle of the research endeavor. Key Responsibilities
    • Reviews and advises on how to strengthen FoH researchers' grant applications, with particular focus on Tri-Agency.
    • Monitors upcoming relevant funding opportunities and communicates to the community through a variety of outreach mechanisms.
    • Plays a key role in the implementation of the research strategic plan, including the FoH peer review process, and provides strategic counsel to the Associate Dean, Research and other senior leaders in the faculty on research-related issues and activities.
    • Liaises with external partners, facilitates connection with research teams in and beyond FoH, identifies opportunities for collaborative research initiatives.
    • Liaises with Dalhousie's Office of Research Services staff to facilitate coordination of research administration and embeds principles of inclusivity in their work and actions.

    Note The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines. Required Qualifications
    • Master's degree in a relevant field plus approximately five years' related experience in research administration or related environment (or equivalent combination of training and experience).
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills to deal with the high volume and interdisciplinary setting, and to adapt to changing priorities.
    • Must have strong communication skills (written and verbal), and the ability to exercise tact and diplomacy when dealing with various stakeholders.
    • Has participated in equity, diversity and inclusion training, especially in relation to research.

    • Knowledge of the research funding environment including funding programs, research funding agencies and practices, and functions related to research and research administration.
