What we're looking for:
Electrical Apprentice
3rd and 4th year Electrical Apprentice
Valid Bluebook and AIT certification.
A valid Apprenticeship in the trade of Electrical.
Experience with routine maintenance operations.
Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
Able to work well under pressure.
Strong attention to detail.
Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
General Requirements for all positions:
Reliable transportation
Previous experience working in a manufacturing / machine shop environment an asset but not required
Experience with hand tools
Good communication skills
Other various general duties to be assigned.
Safety tickets preferred:
Physical ability to lift up to 50lb.
Always adhere to safety policies (wear protective equipment).
Overtime as required.
Hazards associated with the trade.
The Electrical Apprentice will be primarily responsible for building, installing, and terminating power and control panels that contain various electrical components as well as the pre-fabrication of electrical control devices contributing to the overall functionality of the unit.
- Read blueprints, wiring diagrams and build electronic components.
- Install and terminate conduit, cable, equipment, panels, sensors, and various control components and devices.
- Construct and fabricate power and control panels for unit installation.
- Install interconnection wiring and perform wiring check out.
- Set up and perform circuit tests.
- Ensure accuracy and completion of assigned tasks and projects.
- Ensure quality of the product.
- Performs all duties in accordance with Silent-Aire Limited Partnership safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations, and Code.
- Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Registered as an apprentice electrician in Alberta and enrolled in a recognized trade school.
- 23 years of related experience is an asset.
- Knowledge and experience using power & hand tools.
- Ability to work under the supervision of journeyman electricians, as part of a team, and independently in a busy environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Knowledge of RF, high voltage, analogue, and digital components.
- Knowledge of PLC is an asset.
- Knowledge of transformers, relays, magnetic contactors, and motor protectors is an asset.
Position Details:
- Family orientated atmosphere.
- We have years of indoor full time work (winter is coming) with lots of opportunities to pick up extra shifts. Silent Aire is looking for someone to join their team, not just fill a position.
Salary:
$28.50-$34.20 per hour
