We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager with a background in Commercial

Construction to join our team of professionals dedicated to providing quality service and expertise in commercial and light industrial construction.

This career opportunity is a full-time placement located in
Edmonton.


POSITION OVERVIEW

Manage project activities throughout the life cycle of the project, including the allocation of adequate resources, scheduling, documentation, and budgets.

Achieve the project budget and complete accurate monthly forecasts.

Act as primary liaison with clients, designers, site superintendents, subtrades and other project stakeholders.

Organize project teams into suitable workgroups and guide the teams through their efforts to produce deliverables according to specification.

Manage internal and/or external contractors or trades.

Manage trade contractor site meetings, RFIs, invoices and control document process.


You will be responsible for the implementation to completion on commercial projects, along with growing the revenue of the organization.

While managing projects, you will ensure they are complete on time, safely and within budget according to the specified contract.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (includes but not limited to):
Providing overall contract administration, technical expertise, and support to the project.

Developing and implementing the project safety plan and leading by example for health and safety practices and procedures.

Ensuring the project is constructed as per design, budget, resources, quality, and schedule

Understanding client drivers and offers value engineering proposals for functionality, cost, and schedule benefit.

Managing project performance and providing performance status reports for safety, cost forecast, and schedule.

Negotiating and issuing subcontracts, major purchase orders and progress payments and monitoring their progress and schedule.

Understanding, communicating, and enforcing the contract and contract documents.

Developing and coordinating overall project closeout.

Identifying and managing risk and opportunities on construction projects.

Responsible for the implementation to completion on commercial projects, along with growing the revenue of the organization.

While managing projects, you will ensure they are complete on time, safely and within budget according to the specified contract.


REQUIREMENTS/WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE:5+ years of experience in commercial construction with a solid understanding of all construction trades, safety, and construction techniques.

3+ years work experience in commercial construction project management.

Experience managing projects ranging up to $5M, or multiple smaller projects.

Able to interpret and effectively manage multiple and competing priorities and timelines.

CSTS-2020, WHMIS-2015 certifications.

Valid driver's licence and working vehicle as frequent travel to local site and off-site locations as required.


In-depth knowledge of construction industry including building materials, construction specifications, methods and procedures, construction law and building codes, and safety and quality management practices.

Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills including the ability to manage project budgets and schedules.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, project management and scheduling software, with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.

Post-secondary degree or diploma in engineering, construction management, or a related field is an asset but now required.

Gold Seal Certification (GSC) or Gold Seal Intern (GSI) is an asset but not required.

First aid skills and/or certificates are assets but not required.
