Account Specialist:

We are seeing several exciting opportunities on the horizon to grow our people and business. To better position ourselves and support our clients, the Business Development team is looking for someone who is proactive, motivated, and interested in developing commercial acumen to join us

Reporting to the Account Directors, you will support the front to end business development lifecycle for our key clients.

This diversified role covers all aspects of the business development life cycle, from pre-opportunity identifications with the client to negotiating final purchase orders.

Your day-to-day activities include but not limited to strategic planning and positioning; opportunity assessment and capture; bid planning, preparation, and review.


You will have the opportunity to build trusting relationship with our key clients, as well as be exposed to our overall company business development strategy and other marketing strategic initiatives to our clients.

This will not only help you to understand how our business operates and grows, but also provides opportunities for you to bring your energy, enthusiasm and collaborative behaviours to the team and continuously improve our way of doing things.


GENERAL DUTIES

  • Work closely with the Account Directors and support the team to build better understanding of our clients and effectively capture their needs and requirements.
  • Interface with client directly as required to identify and develop opportunities.
  • Be responsible for capturing and executing some of the sole sourced opportunities under framework contracts.
  • Be responsible for the CRM database with accurate and timely business development updates, which are key to the pursuit process (e.g., Start Date, Price, Go/Get information, etc.).
  • Be responsible and accountable for the leadership of proposal preparation and submission. This includes working with the proposal team to ensure that proposals are prepared, reviewed, and approved in a timely manner in response to RFQs/RFPs received from the customers.
  • Assist in the development of marketing budgets, sales plans, and forecasts.
  • Support the delivery function by ensuring customer interfaces are professionally coordinated.
  • As delegated by the Account Director, provide leadership and support to ensure that scope changes are managed effectively with the involvement of the client, other P&L team members and technical organization.
  • Assist in developing reports and presentations relating to status of proposals and sales, monthly progress reports to client and ad hoc reporting on any aspect of the work, resource or cost.
  • Facilitate client meetings, including proposal discussion and negotiation, project kickoff. meetings, progress report meetings, etc., be responsible to ensure the communications are effective.
  • Interfaces and manage with potential and active partners on joint opportunities, throughout all phases of the strategy/bid process.
  • Support MBD team with developing plans in expanding day to day revenue generation avenue,
  • Support the MBD staff in the review and acceptance of PO's against the proposal scope, price and commercial terms and conditions
  • Collaborate with account managers and other internal stakeholders in the development of new marketing material, relating to opportunity and capture phases of the bidding process
  • Work with the Business Development & Marketing Team to support new business strategy initiatives, as and when required
  • Adheres to all Corporate Policies and Procedures including Compliance, Risk and Levels of Authority.
  • Ensure that the companies Code of Ethics and Business Conduct is always adhered to at the highest level
  • Highlight and take necessary action in the case of any potential conflicts of interest (COI); adhering to any and all project related COI disclosure requirements

  • Familiarity of SNC-Lavalin Nuclear strategy relating to the Business Unit as a whole and specific to key client accounts
  • Familiarity and knowledge of nuclear projects and engineering/technical terminology is an asset
  • Appreciation of engineering consultancy pricing models and its principles/requirements relating to treatment of risks, margins and cashflows.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Account & Fina
