Major Accountabilities:
- Conduct organization wide needs assessment and identify skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed
- Map out training plans, design and develop training programs (outsourced or inhouse)
- Choose appropriate training methods per case (simulations, mentoring, on the job training, professional development etc.)
- Strategically partnering with HR Managers to improve productivity and reduce turnover
- Analyze and propose changes to the overall Recruitment Strategy for the business unit
- Market available training opportunities to employees and provide necessary information
- Develop training aids such as manuals and handbooks
- Conduct periodic audit for on the job training for all new hires and employees being moved to different departments due to position change and/or promotions
- Avoids legal challenges by understanding current legislation; enforcing regulations with managers; recommending new procedures; conducting training
- Contribute to continuous improvement process, productivity, quality, customer service, cost reduction, safety and housekeeping
- Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook
Qualifications:
- Completion of/or in process of obtaining Diploma or Degree in Human Resources Management with emphasis in recruitment, training or education
- Minimum of 2 years of recruiting for technical and nontechnical positions within a manufacturing environment
- Fluent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Excellent English Communication skills (oral and written)
- Strong Coordination and organizational skills
- Knowledge of Human Resource best practices, Human Rights Code and applicable law
Health & Safety:
- Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company and plant rules, policies and procedures
- Must use or wear Personal Protective Equipment and certain clothing as required by the Company
