JOB DESCRIPTION

Duties:


  • As Market Research and Insights manager you will have overall responsibility for leading BC
  • Hydro's Corporate research activities while leading insights generated from customer behaviour's
- all while weaving in the latest macro trends and patterns. You are an experienced corporate and
- market research professional with a proven ability to plan, design and implement a broad range of
- research projects, providing meaningful insights and market intelligence that inform customer
- programs and business strategy. You understand the insights digital data can provide and are
- adept at weaving them into broader research. You have an understanding of common qualitative
- and quantitative research methods and a mastery of translating these domains into meaningful,
- reliable business insights.

  • Specific accountabilities:
  • You lead the strategy behind our corporate research, both regularly tracked measures and ad hoc
- research needed to advance the business.
  • Provides insights to inform customer strategy and marketing campaigns: by designing, building
and analyzing primary consumer and market research through quantitative and qualitative
- research techniques, including surveys, focus groups, concept testing, etc.
  • Supports the design of customerfacing programs and projects to enhance the customer


experience, including electrification, energy efficiency and customer service offerings.- Plans and oversees the implementation of an annual research calendar and market research.


  • You lead our digital analytics team, and ensure BC Hydro is contemporary in its digital tracking
and measurement practices.- You foster and develop where necessary dashboards and feedback processes to regularly
- inform the business of program performance, insights and areas of improvement
  • You are able to identify problems and recommend analytical paths or research approaches to
solve those problems, by leveraging internal or external data.- You regularly assesses performance against business objectives (market share and advertising

tracking).- You play a big role in supporting BC Hydro's research-based content marketing program through

market research studies, and analysis and interpretation of both primary and secondary research
- data.
  • You manage BC Hydro's external research service providers and BC Hydro's online customer
research panel.- Identifies data limitations and makes recommendations on how to leverage existing data despite

limitations. Recommends processes for improving the integrity of existing data/databases.- You are an effective communicator. You can summarize and communicate research results into

easy-to-understand messages, including through presentations all layers of management and
- leadership.
  • Balances multiple projects, deployment schedules and budgets to meet stakeholder goals and
expectations


Qualifications:

***- Required to have a bachelor's degree in business, social sciences, sciences, marketing or

another related field.

Master's level degree is preferred.- At least 7-10 years of market research experience, with a minimum of 2 years managing a team.


  • Expertise in statistical, multivariate and modeling analyses.
  • Demonstrated ability using qualitative and quantitative market research methodologies,
analytical tools, and industry principles and practices.- Experience managing analytic projects and developing research instruments, including surveys,

screeners and moderator guides.- Experience using online research and testing platforms, including online panels.

  • Experience in data collection techniques and data analysis, including online data collection tools
such as Sparq.- A strong understanding of Google Marketing Cloud and Google analytics. A demonstrated

familiarity with other online analytics ecosystems.- Experience managing vendors across a range of research studies.

  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a complex, dynamic environment.
