Description
**Pickering Casino Resort is seeking an Assistant Facilities Manager

Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, this position is responsible for assisting in the management of maintenance and housekeeping operations at the site level as well as supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of the site location.

Ensures adherence to all policies and procedures, motivates, and leads by example and provides a learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.


  • Provides leadership, direction and support to the maintenance operation at the site level; provides input for employee performance objectives and evaluations
  • Monitors and reviews maintenance reports and provide recommendations for improvements and efficiencies
  • Establish and maintain scheduling procedures
  • Performs regular hotel, Arena, Casino and public space inspections to ensure the consistent quality of Resort operations
  • Assist in implementing a Preventative Maintenance System; conducts regular maintenance inspections
  • Dispatches in response to external service requests; reviews response times and takes appropriate action
  • Responds to mechanical, service or maintenance emergencies; assists in the development of the Emergency Preparedness Manual
  • Maintains inventory of amenities and other supplies as needed
  • Liaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
  • Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders: guests, management, team members, unions, vendors, trades and service providers
  • Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Participates in the recruitment and hiring process. Performs other duties as assigned or directed
**Successful applicants will demonstrate the following qualifications: - Minimum 3 years of experience in HVAC, energy management, electrical, mechanical or other related engineering fields at a supervisory level

  • Power Engineer 4th Class; Sustainable Energy Management Associated Certificate an asset
  • Smart Serve and AGCO license
  • Computer literacy in MS Office; engineering specific software Experience developing business cases and detailed report writing; experience with financial analysis, budget preparation and budget management
