As one of the GTA's leading local container carriers, we specialize in serving the Canada/USWe are seeking an individual with excellent communication skills to join the company's Safety and Compliance Department.
As a leading carrier in the industry, we require a competent and effective safety officer in order to uphold our company's high safety rating and ensure continued compliance with all operating authorities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Thorough knowledge of all MTO Rules and Regulations regarding driving and driver responsibilities
- Audit Driver Logs and provide retraining or discipline where necessary
- Renewing and reviewing CVOR monthly
- Reviewing all driver abstracts monthly
- Analyze and generate reports as required
- Run quarterly safety meetings with all drivers and owner operators
- Review and follow up with all traffic tickets, warnings, convictions or accidents
- Monitoring and staying current with all federal and provincial safety regulations
- Onboarding of new drivers and ensuring all contracts are signed and reviewed and all documentation is filed with each new driver.
- Work with our training vendors to create informative presentations for driver meetings, as well as provide drive tests for any new driver onboarded
- Maintain all owner operator safety and inspection records
- Follow all accident procedures and file claims with insurance. Follow up with insurance company about ongoing claims. Follow up with drivers to fill out all forms and provide any retraining
- Process all MTO plate renewals for drivers and owner operators
- Complete maintenance and repair records as required
- Safety and Compliance experience relative to Transportation Industry
- Excellent verbal and written communications
- Time Management and ability to prioritize work
- Comfortable with new software and interfaces
- Available to work some weekends
- Strong Followup skills
- Bilingual skills considered an asset
- Detail oriented
- Truck Mate knowledge considered an asset
