Your Opportunity:


An exciting opportunity exists in Central Zone as a Speech Language Pathologist responsible for the management of adult clients referred with swallowing and communication difficulties.

Services will be provided in two to four rural communities within Central Zone and will span the continuum of care:
acute care hospital sites, long term care sites, and outpatients. The position will work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams in each community and requires strong communication and interpersonal skills. Effective self-management skills and flexibility are also essential in this position. Central Zone SLP service is a multisite program and locations may change based on program needs. Travel will be via AHS Fleet Vehicle.


Description:


As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will provide clinical professional practice both independently and as a part of a collaborative team, which may include external partners.

You will be responsible for providing prevention, health promotion, identification, assessment, intervention, and case management.

You will participate in planning, coordination and delivery of rehabilitation services in collaboration with patients/clients, families, healthcare professionals and other partners.

Your leadership and interpersonal skills will aide you in supervising students and providing clinical guidance to other staff as appropriate.

You will use your clinical expertise to inform ongoing quality improvement, service integration, and program development.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of master's degree in Speech Language Pathology. Active or eligible registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA).
