EDSNA is seeking an individual with expertise in finance and accounting to serve as Treasurer on our Board of Directors.

  • Mission: To support and educate Albertans impacted by eating disorders.

Who do we serve?


We serve individuals dealing with an eating disorder, family and loved ones and those dealing directly with an eating disorder(s), professionals working in the field of eating disorders, and the general public.


  • EDSNA is a registered charity, established in 2014.

Board Specific Information

  • The EDSNA Board of Directors is a volunteer board.
  • EDSNA is committed to providing services to all Albertans.
  • Board members from across Alberta are welcome.
  • Board meetings occur quarterly with 2 additional strategic planning meetings annually.
  • Board meetings occur virtually.

Board Member Expectations
EDSNA is a young organization. The organization is transitioning from an Operational to Governance Board.

As we accomplish this transition, Board members are required t participate in organizational initiatives in keeping with areas of personal interest, skill and organizational need.


Specific Responsibilities of the Treasurer

  • Participate in creating the annual budget for the organization.
  • Monitor organizational finances, including managing cash flow, oversight of the annual budget, and financial resources and needs.
  • Advise the Board on financial matters concerning the organization.
  • Prepare/present quarterly Treasurer's reports and annual financial statements.
  • Develop, revise, and review the organization's fiscal policies and procedures, as needed.
  • Total time commitment is expected to be approximately 24 hours per month.

Desired Skills

  • CPA designation is preferred.
  • Expertise in accounting and finance.
  • Experience working with notforprofit organisations.
  • A high level of administrative, organizational, and leadership skills.
