Position Overview:

The
Plant Operator will report directly to our
Production Supervisor.

As a member of the production team the operator will work in tandem with others in both production, quality control, and research teams.

The operator will be trained on the operation of all processes and equipment in the facility and is expected to be able to run all equipment safely and proficiently.

The operator is also expected to contribute to the general cleaning, maintenance and upkeep of the plant and its operating equipment.

It is expected that the operator will be a self-starter, a tactile and hands-on individual that is capable of initiating work on their-own and recognizing opportunities to get things done.

The operator will help to achieve targets set by the management team. Once trained, it is expected that the operator will be willing and able to use a forklift and tractor.


Once trained, the operator will contribute to our Quality Control Management System (QCMS) by following the sampling, measurement, analysis and data recording protocols outlined in the QCMS.

The team's primary objective are to maintain and improve the quality and volume of production.

The production team operates two shifts; a
morning shift that runs from 7:00am - 3:30pm and an afternoon shift from 2pm - 10:00pm, Mon - Fri.

The
plant operator is also
expected to come-in for a shift on every-other Sat.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Operate various processing equipment;
  • Adhere to all procedures outlined by management including: safety procedures, operating procedures, and preventive maintenance procedures;
  • Collection of data, samples and observations on various aspects of operation;
  • Conduct onsite sample analysis and quantification per QC/QA requirements;
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment;
  • Update and maintain good logbooks, records, and documentation;
  • Troubleshoot any issues within the scope of knowledge, and training received; and
  • Perform other
    duties and responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:


  • A technical diploma or degree is an asset;
  • Two years of experience working in a agrifood, chemical or other production facility is an asset;
  • Experience and good proficiency working with MS Suite (excel, word) an asset; and
  • Experience and desire to use common manual and power tools to build things an asset.
