SUMMARY:


Reporting to the National Maintenance Director, the incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance of the Ontario warehouses under their care, including the building infrastructure, automated operations, and general maintenance.

They will utilize computerized maintenance management systems to ensure effective tracking and follow-ups.


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITES:


  • Manages communication with maintenance and service partners for automation, such as Witron, Knapp, and STIM.
  • Serves as a member and representative of the maintenance committee, addressing areas such as Health & Safety, HACCP, and Environment.
  • Prepares, submits, and oversees the annual operations budget and capital budget for each property, encompassing both operational and capital expenses.
  • Ensures that preventive and corrective maintenance tasks adhere to Metro's standards.
  • Negotiates and coordinates the execution of repairs, maintenance, renovations, and improvements on buildings in line with established standards and budgets.
  • Negotiates, validates, prepares, and administers contracts for services, including mechanical/electrical maintenance, insurance, snow removal, cleaning of common areas, fire alarm systems, and more.
  • Manages current and future equipment and parts procurement needs in collaboration with the management and procurement team.
  • Conducts regular physical visits to ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Conducts regular followups with internal customers, including transport, operations, and quality assurance teams, to address their needs and ensure smooth coordination.
  • Participates in the development of safety, reliability, and quality programs for maintenance work, including the formulation of work plans.
  • Verifies and approves invoices for payment related to corrective maintenance work.
  • Manages the health plan and HACCP maintenance devices for the distribution center, as required.
  • Responds to afterhours calls and emergencies as necessary.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • DEC or DEP in Electromechanics, Electronics or Building Mechanics
  • 5 years of experience in Automation, Electrical and/or Mechanical Maintenance
  • Experience in a distribution center
  • Functional bilingualism (spoken and written) an asset
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word and Excel)
  • Knowledge of CMMS systems (IT Guide)
