About the Role
The Jerome D. Diamond (JDD) Adolescent Centre, a branch of Jewish Family and Child Service is looking for a

Social Worker - Family Therapy. The JDD Adolescent Centre is a children's mental health centre that provides support to youth with educational, emotional and/or behavioural challenges.


Responsibilities:


  • Provide family and individual counselling and/or direct service support to the clients of the JDD who have complex needs using an appropriate range of techniques
  • Provide group counselling, advocacy, and support to families with special needs children
  • Provide consultation and collaboration with professionals in the community, such as schools, children's mental health centres, etc.
  • Facilitate coordination of services which includes the provision of information, advocacy and referral to both Agency and external resources
  • Knowledge of and commitment to social work ethics, philosophy, principles and methods
  • Understands and has the ability to deliver Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to clients of the JDD
  • Possesses an understanding of Jewish traditions, or is willing to educate oneself in their practices
  • Provide support in relation to other multiservice cases as needed
  • Have the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Organize clientrelated documents, records, and data collection for internal and external reporting purposes
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:


  • MSW
  • Minimum 5 years related clinical/family therapy experience
  • Member of OCSWSSW in good standing
  • Knowledge of community needs and resources
  • Flexibility and ability to respond to changing circumstances and organizational needs
  • The ability to establish rapport, credibility and build strong relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Comprehension of French or another language reflecting the local community will be considered an asset
