GKI is recruiting for the Manager of our Flagship store. This position will report to Director of Operations


As the Manager of our Flagship store with a focus on training, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success and efficiency of our restaurant operations.

You will be responsible for leading and training a team of employees to deliver exceptional customer service, maintain high-quality standards, and drive sales growth.

Your primary objective will be to implement comprehensive training programs that empower our staff to excel in their roles and contribute to the overall success of the restaurant.

This position is full-time and based in Mississauga.


Responsibilities:


  • Store Operations:
  • Oversee all daily restaurant operations as needed, including staffing, scheduling, inventory management, and customer service.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating excellence in customer service, teamwork, and adherence to company standards.
  • Collaborate with other managers and team members to ensure smooth and efficient operations during peak hours and busy periods.
  • P&L Responsibility
  • New Employee Onboarding:
  • Coordinate and conduct comprehensive onboarding sessions for new hires, introducing them to company policies, procedures, and job responsibilities.
  • Provide handson training and mentorship to new employees to facilitate a smooth transition into their roles.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of new employees during the onboarding period, providing feedback and support as needed.
  • Continuous Training and Development:
  • Implement ongoing training initiatives to enhance the skills and knowledge of existing staff members.
  • Conduct regular training sessions and workshops to reinforce best practices, address performance gaps, and introduce new procedures or products.
  • Encourage employee participation in training programs and promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Performance Management:
  • Set clear performance expectations and goals for team members, providing regular feedback and coaching to support their development.
  • Identify training needs and opportunities for individual employees, creating personalized development plans to help them reach their full potential.
  • Recognize and reward outstanding performance, fostering a positive and motivating work environment.
  • Communication and Collaboration:
  • Foster open communication channels with restaurant managers, staff, and corporate teams.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as human resources and operations, to align training programs with overall business objectives.

Knowledge & Skill Requirements

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within a restaurant environment with P&L exposure.
  • Strong understanding of restaurant operations, including food safety standards, customer service best practices, and inventory management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train, coach, and motivate team members.
  • Detailoriented with a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and cleanliness.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and evenings, as needed.
  • Certification in food safety and sanitation is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills.

Education & Qualifications

  • Post secondary education is helpful but not required

Hands on operations experience in the restaurant industry - as a franchisee or with franchisees is helpful
