About the work environment:


Peoples Group offers a flexible work environment with a combination of in-office and remote from-home work options for our employees.

Typically, you'll be working regular business hours, Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 4:30pm with flexibility around start & end times.


About you:


You are an enthusiastic, positive and driven individual with a team-oriented mindset who has experience providing a full range of compliance and regulatory services across various business lines.

You have experience analyzing and problem-solving in addressing regulatory and policy issues, conducting research and analysis on a spectrum of matters, and engaging with all levels of business stakeholders.


About you / qualifications:


  • Postsecondary education in a related field
  • Minimum of 1 year of progressive work experience in a compliance or regulatory role
  • Minimum of 3 years of broad work experience in an office setting
  • Proven ability to comprehend and produce technical documents
  • Experience working with or within Financial Institutions
  • Knowledge of Trust & Loan Companies Act and regulations, Bank Act and regulations, Consumer Protection, PIPEDA, AML/ATF, Privacy, and CASL legislation _will be considered an asset_
  • Experience with coordinating schedules, requests, and documents
  • Experience with compliance software and/or willingness to learn compliance software
  • Experience with working with various stakeholders within the organization including management
  • Strong proficiency with systems; Word & Outlook; Intermediate to advanced level of Excel (pivot tables, IF functions, Lookup functions)

About the day-to-day:


  • Reporting to the Team Lead, Corporate Compliance, you will provide daily and strategic support to the RCM program
  • Assess emerging regulatory changes to direct the business to their process enhancements
  • Translate research into accessible materials and knowledge products in support of organizational priorities
  • Draft procedures in relation to applicable legislation and regulations
  • Monitor legal and regulatory environment including review & analysis of regulatory announcements, reports, and legislative changes
  • Develop and maintain relationships with associations and industry representatives
  • Develop materials for special projects as requested.
