Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled technical writer and scrum master to join our team at the McGill Centre for Integrative Neuroscience Alan Evans Lab


Primary Responsibilities:
Participate in the development and implementation of policies and new initiatives that support the strategic direction of HBCD and IBIS projects development for EEG, MRI, Behavioural, and Biosample LORIS Modules. Provide professional expertise and advice with respect to IT customer support for research partners (NIH), including instructional development, LORIS help desk services, training and user documentation. Create, write and maintain technical documentation for LORIS for the HBCD and IBIS projects Serve as the scrum master for the IBIS and HBCD project's development team, including facilitating sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives Ensure compliance for data sharing initiatives, including BSRC and NDAR. Compliance includes deidentification of data Proper documentation Timely submission (July and January, yearly) Provide weekly and monthly reports to the Director of Technology, separately for the HBCD and IBIS projects:
  • Sprint Velocity: The total number of story points completed in each sprint, averaged over the last three months. This can give an indication of the team's overall productivity.
Sprint Burndown: The rate at which work is being completed within a sprint, measured as the percentage of work remaining at the end of each day. This can help identify any issues with team capacity or efficiency. Sprint Retrospective: The number of actionable items identified and completed during each sprint retrospective meeting, averaged over the last three months. This can demonstrate the team's ability to continuously improve their processes. Sprint Review: The percentage of user stories accepted during each sprint review meeting, averaged over the last three months. This can indicate the team's ability to meet HBCD and IBIS stakeholder needs and deliver value. Sprint Planning: The average duration of sprint planning meetings over the last three months. This will help identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of these meetings. Team Happiness: The results of a monthly survey or feedback mechanism to assess team morale and engagement. This can provide insight into potential issues or areas for improvement within the team. Technical Debt: The number of identified technical debt items that have been prioritized and addressed over the last three months. This will help ensure the longterm sustainability and maintainability of the LORIS software. Stakeholder Satisfaction: The results of regular surveys or feedback mechanisms to assess stakeholder satisfaction with the software being developed. This can demonstrate the team's ability to meet business needs and deliver value to the organization. Ensure that HBCD and IBSI members are aligned and working towards the same goals, reducing redundant development across instances of LORIS for imaging, behavioural, biosamples, and multimodal query modules. Ensure that all technical documentation is accurate and uptodate Work closely with the development team to understand the functionality of the software and ensure that documentation is accurate and clearOther Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities
