The Township of Oro-Medonte is currently seeking applicants for a full time
"Parks & Facilities Operator". Applicants will be considered in accordance with the terms outlined in the Collective Agreement.

The Parks & Facilities Operator shall be responsible to provide day to day maintenance for the Township's parks and recreational facilities, while ensuring safety and maintaining a high level of customer service.

Reporting to the Supervisor, Parks & Facilities, the Parks & Facilities Operator is responsible for a variety of duties associated with the operation of Township recreation amenities.

This includes all aspects of arena ice operations, building maintenance, facility cleaning and event set-ups, and all parks/green space operations including sports fields and trail maintenance, playgrounds and green spaces.

The Parks & Facilities Operator will also ensure that all security measures, policies and health and safety procedures are followed.

The applicant must possess a high school diploma and a minimum of two years' experience as well as technical skills in parks and open space management and/or recreation facilities including arena ice operations (ice installation, resurfacing, refrigeration and equipment maintenance).

Certification in First Aid/CPR combined with O.R.F.A. Basic Refrigeration and Ice Maintenance and Equipment Operations certificates are required. CIT (Certified Ice Technician) and/or CPT (Certified Parks Technician) Certification(s) would be considered an asset.

The successful applicant must hold and maintain a valid Class "G" license, shall be knowledgeable of the related Acts/Regulations including but not limited to Ontario Health and Safety Act, WHMIS and be available to work flexible hours including days, evenings, weekends and holidays in a variety of environmental conditions.

The position of Parks & Facilities Operator is a physically strenuous position, which includes but is not limited to shoveling, raking, sweeping, bending, lifting, carrying and the use of equipment and supplies.
