SCOPE


Reporting to the Manager, Operations and Strategy of 4TH SPACE, the incumbent assists in audio-visual set-up and organization of 4TH SPACE events and serves as the front-of-house point of contact for collaborators and visitors.

The incumbent assists 4TH SPACE team members with the audio-visual elements in daily live events.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support events and 4TH SPACE operations through assisting in media and graphics production; updating digital signage; and serving as a point of contact for collaborators and visitors.
  • Under the direction of the Production Coordinator, assist in event production logistics, including camera, microphone, and livestream operations, and related media postproduction.
  • Participate in designing, creating, editing and coordinating visual and media production elements, under supervision; ensure participant and visitor audiovisual needs are met to effectively engage in activities.
  • Aid in preparation of media files for scheduled social media campaigns related to events and other programming: Create and schedule daily digital signage programming; prepare space setup for events; assist guests with event queries; coordinate media production with team members; collaborate on release schedule for audiovisual production across social media platforms.
  • Maintain event livestream and media file archive, ensuring event descriptions and necessary edits are up to date and sorted within playlists. Perform other duties in support of the unit.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma of Collegial Studies (two year preuniversity DEC) in a field pertinent to the primary responsibilities with 24 years of related work experience.
  • Good knowledge (Level 4) of spoken and written French and English in order to respond to information requests in either language.
  • Ability to work in Windows and Mac environments; good knowledge (intermediate level) of Word (able to create and format documents and do mail merges), Excel (able to create spreadsheets and charts), and PowerPoint (able to create presentations). Ability to work with Outlook, and to research information using the internet.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communications skills, ability to interact effectively with faculty, students and staff; good communication skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team; tact and courtesy; sound judgment; discretion required with regards to confidential matters.
  • Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, prioritize work, and establish timelines.
  • Knowledge of university, an asset.
  • Experience in media production and/or working in a team environment, experience in event production and working with the public, and experience in group facilitation are assets. Ability to produce basic graphics and design for social media posts is desirable.
