We are a young, thriving company, located in Markham and we are seeking for a Web Development Specialist to join our Products & Marketing team. The Web Development Specialist is accountable for managing our development agencies in the processes of user experience, solution ideation, prioritizing sprints, staging testing to live production.

This highly cross functional role requires a self-motivated individual to propose creative web solutions that will suffice the needs of departments such as Marketing, Brands, Creative, Sales, Development, and Operations.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Propose web development solutions that are achievable within timelines and budget.
This includes front end mock-ups using Figma. As well as back-end solutions to

efficiently map data values within and outside the website(s).

  • Implement agile processes to ensure the development process is continuously improving
at every stage (pre and post launch) between development teams and stakeholders.

Propose pivotal changes during development if critical pitfalls are discovered through

user testing and studying insights.

  • Propose and manage agencies to implement data tracking tools such as Google
Analytics, heat mapping, and CMS dashboards to summarize the user journey in all stages

of transactions, upselling rates, cart abandonment, and engagement level.

  • Ensure development teams deliver on time and within budget by prioritizing solutions
into sprints and tickets. Achieving this will involve out-the-box thinking and internal

business knowledge to solve limitations between developers and stakeholders.

  • Provide optimal performance solutions between our website(s) and Operations.
Some operational examples are synchronization between ERP systems (i.e.

customer information and history), inventory control, order processing, and

payment methods.

and cache management.

  • Run regular website speed tests to ensure the frontend and CMS
back-end runs smoothly. Perform clean ups on our databases, cloud services and cache.

This also includes training the web team on best practices to update the website

whereby catalogs, products, customer segmentation, promotion rules are

configured efficiently to avoid website lag.

  • Provide advance support to website errors by solving them independently or
manage respective development agencies to solve the issue by providing

customer screen captures and reproducing the bug step by step. Document

each unique error along with its frequency, and how it was solved.

  • Support the web team updating products, launches, promotional programs,
customers, informational pages and all other maintenance requests through our

central management systems (i.e. Magento, Shopify)

  • Accountable for creating new B2B and DTC websites by managing the ideation user
journey, development, testing, operational ERP connectivity and live launch.

  • Responsible for gathering required web content and graphics from Brand and Creative
teams with correct specifications. This includes the assistance of reviewing,

proofreading, seeking content approval from managers and providing

design specification/layout guidance to graphic designers.

  • Provide solutions to manage complex price matrices, nested product catalogs, bundles
and various customer types (i.e. defaults accounts, VIP's, key accounts, franchises,

regionally limited accounts). The management of external programs like loyalty

and subscription programs that can affect the price and product offering

are to be considered as well.

  • Research and validate which external development agencies, app extensions and
platforms work best with our agile needs, budget and timelines.

  • Accountable for updating Standard Operation Procedure documents with the most
up to date steps to updating our CMS platforms and train the web

team to follow these steps.

  • Supervise and train external agencies, and internal team members to efficiently
update all our websites with best operating procedure practices.

  • Provide daily progress updates to the Manager / Team Lead.
  • Support the web team as required.
  • Perform updates on other platforms as assigned by the Manager / Team Lead
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Manager / Team Lead

Qualifications:


  • University Degree or College Diploma in related disciplines or related work experience.
  • Intermediate experience with Magento and Shopify CMS platforms.
  • Intermediate coding experience in Shopify Liquid, Magento PHP, HTML, CSS,
Javascript and JSONata queries or eq
