7410BR - Manager, Talent Development
***Reporting to the Director, Talent & Total Rewards, the Manager Talent Development leads the team responsible for the development and delivery of employee learning and development programs to support retention and succession planning.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Provides leadership and guidance to the Talent Development team to create strategic solutions for maintaining, developing, and improving skills across the organization
  • Support the development of current and future leaders and high potential talent through a variety of targeted development plans and programs
  • Collaborates with senior leaders to understand objectives/strategies and desired results from learning opportunities
  • Leads the team of professionals as they manage, design, develop, assess, and implement learning solutions using multiple tools and methodologies to meet business objectives
  • Ensures effectiveness and awareness of programs used to support employee career and leadership development
  • Leads the enhancement of succession planning processes as well as the creation of talent development models to address specific skills/talent shortages
  • Ensures diversity, equity and inclusion is embedded in all training, development and learning programs
  • May perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in Human Resource Management, Organizational Development, Education, Adult Education, or a related area of study.
  • Five (5) years of human resource experience with demonstrated experience in development and delivery of learning and development programs.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a team.

Technical/Job Specific Knowledge and Abilities

  • Thorough knowledge of applicable NS legislation, Labour Standards, and Human Rights Act.
  • Thorough knowledge of human resource principles and best practices.
  • Knowledge and skills in leadership and employee engagement
  • Commitment to the principles of diversity, equity and inclusion
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.

Security Clearance Requirements:

WORK STATUS:
Permanent, Full-time


HOURS OF WORK:35 Hours per week, however, flexibility to work outside of these hours may be required.

SALARY:
Non-Union Salary Level 09, $94,540 to $129,990 (Salary to be commensurate with education and experience.)

WORK LOCATION:8th Floor, Purdy's Tower II, Halifax
