Job Profile:


As an Investment Associate for a large wealth management team, your primary purpose will be to work closely with the Advisor in the development and management of the Advisor's book of business by providing excellent client service and primarily contributing to portfolio management, research, and trading activities

Is this role for you? In this role you will:


Be Responsible for Trading and Portfolio Management:


Managing the execution of discretionary portfolio management transactions and trading on behalf of the Advisor

Maintaining a good understanding of client profiles and that the Advisor's investment strategy being used to implement client objectives

Ensuring the suitability of client recommendations, and that they are in line with the clients' financial goals, objectives and risk levels.

Ensuring non-solicited trades meet the client risk tolerance

Research portfolio allocation opportunities that align with the portfolio management principles of the advisor

Ensure a high level of client service by:


Preparing, analyzing, and presenting reports and recommendations to clients

Working with the Advisor to develop and distribute client communication and marketing pieces related to portfolio allocation and changes

Providing recommendations to Advisor for improvement of team business and portfolio management processes

Working closely with Team of Experts

Contribute to the effective functioning of the branch team by:


Developing into a leader on the team and within the branch by providing experience, direction, and expertise

Regularly reviewing practices to ensure business processes are streamlined and tasks are being completed and logged for tracking purposes

Building effective working relationships across the team and with various business line and corporate function contacts

Maintaining a high level of customer service

Facilitating a culture of open and honest communication

Encouraging the generation of new ideas and approaches

Do you have the skills required to be successful in the role? We'd love to work with you if you have:


3+ years of Investment Industry Experience

Experience in trading, systems, portfolio management.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong organizational skills

Ability to take initiative and work independently

Ability to meet deadlines

Understanding of industry and firm compliance regulations

In-depth industry knowledge

ACCREDITATIONS

Canadian Securities Course (CSC)

Conduct and Practices Handbook (CPH)

Wealth Management Essentials (WME) prior to enrolling in Registered Representative Training

Registered Representative Training (RRT)

Relevant licensing as required by the Advisor's business

Completed Investment Associate Training Program (IATP)

CFA Level 1 & 2 completion considered an asset

Experience using Charles River Trading Platform an asset
