) Manager, Financial Systems & Reporting.This position provides senior level expertise for planning, managing, developing or evaluating, implementing and maintaining all computerized records systems pertaining to Financial Services and to Institute Employees. Leads optimization of Financial Services Information Systems (FSIS) operations and services, including development of policies, practices, processes and standards. Manages related projects in collaboration with other departments across the Institute. Leads assessment of data, statistics, metrics, and other reporting requirements and manages all aspects of system maintenance and administration. Develops reports to support the Finance and Corp Services groups. Oversees system security and access and delivery of integrated technological solutions to meet business needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Leads Financial Services Information Systems (FSIS) operations and services. Develops and implements policies, best practices, and processes. Oversees system maintenance and administration, ensuring system and data integrity. Engages in, and oversees delivery of training financial services staff and users across the Institute, ensuring clear understanding of system capabilities and all related policies, practices, procedures and standards.
  • Plans Financial Services' functional roadmap for financial systems. Partners with IT Services for financial services strategy and roadmap alignment with broader plans for Institute's enterprise systems. Leads troubleshooting, configurations, enhancements, upgrades, implementations and all related projects in collaboration with IT Services. Supervises hardware and/or software rollouts and develops and oversees development of functional guidelines for financial system users.
  • Oversees privacy and protection of financial data which includes vendor, student and employee information; advises on and oversees the administration of system security and access to financial data. Liaises with IT Services and Privacy Office to develop and implement controls, maintain diligent access standards and compliance with security and access protocols.
  • Collaborates with business leaders and stakeholders throughout the Institute (budget units) for assessment of data, statistics, metrics, costing and other reporting requirements. In coordination with IT Services, oversees delivery of integrated solutions that fully leverage system functionality to address business needs. Works closely with VP Students and Facilities on projects, maintenance and testing regarding student tuition and capital asset management. Alerts related parties on emerging issues that may impact success.
  • Establishes customer service standards and practices and maintains high level of customer response. Provides expertise and advice to address complex, escalated issues, and coordinates response and solutions between multiple stakeholders. Participates on committees, working groups, and initiatives for the department or Institute driven projects.
  • Works closely with Financial Services management team on projects, maintenance, and testing. Acts as Project Manager for related projects as assigned. Provides technical advice and guidance on systems administration and data integrity. Alerts related parties on emerging issues that may impact success. Responsible for developing reports to support the Finance and Corp Services groups.
  • Manages and maintains institute wide processes such as the travel expense processing system, for all employees and provides ongoing support. Reviews processes to ensure continuance of good user acceptance. Manages and maintain activities that support Institute's compliance with Purchase Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS). Assists in deployment, maintenance, and support for the Institute's Point of Sale devices as requested. Leverages existing system(s) to optimize financial processes.
  • Oversees various adhoc initiatives such as: investigating and resolving data processing issues affecting employee pay and benefits; collaborates with Student Services towards tuition and related fees rates and resolving issues where required.
  • Manages staff, including recruitment/selection, training, development, coaching, and performance management.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Completion of Bachelor's degree in Information technology plus 5 years' information system experience at progressive levels of responsibility. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Advance knowledge of the concepts, practices, standards and capabilities of information systems preferably related to financial services.
  • Advanced communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills, with ability to provide clear and simple explanations of technical systems and procedures
