    Description

    Queen's Landing is currently seeking a Full-time Laundry Washer-Driver to join our growing Team

    This is a unique, hands on role which involves assisting in both washing of laundry and delivering completed loads to our properties.

    Please note, the successful candidate must be comfortable working a rotation of both days and afternoons. This includes weekends and holidays.

    Position Summary: Responsible for the transportation of all laundry washed internally as well as ensuring laundry is cleaned and maintained in a manner consistent with a superior quality hotel.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Providing personalized and exceptional guest service at every given opportunity
    • Deliver and pick up laundry at all properties in a timely fashion
    • Retrieve, sort and load soiled linen into washers
    • Check and change chemicals for washers
    • Load clean laundry into dryers, sort and fold laundry when dry
    • Ensure items to be ironed and put through automatic pressing machine (ironer)
    • Monitor laundry machines, washers, and dryers for noise levels and other discrepancies
    • Accurately weigh loads and records all poundage information
    • Perform clean up duties at end of shift
    • Help out on floor when needed
    • Assists in housekeeping department as required
    • Having a thorough knowledge of Lais Hotel Properties' products and services
    • Actively seeking ways to meet guests' product or service needs
    • All other duties assigned

    Professional Requirements:

    • Must be at least 25 years of age and have a valid driver's license with clean abstract for insurance purposes
    • At least one year experience in a housekeeping/laundry environment
    • WHMIS training is considered an asset

    Physical Requirements:

    • Must be able to lift up to 25lbs
    • Must be able to push or pull heavy loads
    • Other physical demands include bending, twisting, carrying, sitting and standing for extended periods of time
