Overview


Reporting to the Manager, Credit & Deductions, the Credit & Deductions Analyst is responsible for providing the overall Treasury Team with analytics relating to Accounts Receivable (AR) and Deductions, investigating and identifying trends and issues with our Deduction portfolio and assisting with credit assessments of our customers.

This role will also be a key player on Trade Promotion Management (TPM) initiatives and the deployment of the new technologies to create efficiencies and improved analytics.


Accountabilities and responsibilities

  • Provide regular reporting on the status of our AR and Deductions.
  • Analyze Deductions to identify trends and issues that need to be addressed internally or with customers.
  • Assist the Deduction Team on major deduction reconciliations and escalations, as required to meet performance targets.
  • Assist with Post Audit deductions to ensure that they are valid.
  • Foster strong relationships with Sales Team and FP&A to ensure compliance with customer contracts to mitigate overspending and potential fraud.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of accounts receivable and other accounts, as required.
  • Assist the AR Team with Credit Assessments to ensure all our Credit Files are reviewed as per our guidelines.
  • Work with the AR Team on a new electronic filing and approval system for our Credit Assessment Process, this includes new and existing accounts.
  • Prepare quarterly calculation of allowances for doubtful accounts.
  • Assist with inquiries and requests from Internal Stakeholders.
  • Identify and facilitate process improvements related to all aspects of AR and Deductions; always striving for streamlined and measurable processes, and updating metrics and KPI dashboards where appropriate.
  • Engage with project leaders to ensure new systems and initiatives support the requirements of the AR and Deduction Teams.

Qualifications

  • College or University degree in accounting or business and/or equivalent years of experience in a finance position. Management and Project Management experience considered an asset.
  • Possess a solid understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Well versed in various software such as Microsoft Excel and capable of learning new systems quickly.
  • Excellent teamwork and team building skills.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with other departments, key business partners, and government agencies.
  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.
  • Highly analytical with experience in gathering and analyzing data, compiling the proper information, and preparing financial reports.
  • Capable of working in a fast paced, high volume department, you'll need to remain organized to ensure details are not overlooked.
  • You will bring a fresh set of eyes and a desire to improve processes.

Office Environment:
The noise level in the office work environment is moderately quiet.


Plant Environment:


The plant work environment will expose the employee to loud noise, food grade dust & odors, moving & vibrating machinery, heavy equipment, powered industrial trucks, heights, traffic, anhydrous ammonia, oil and electricity.

The employee may be exposed to adverse weather conditions including extreme cold, heat, rain, snow, dust, smoke and odors.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, sit, talk, listen, and reach with hands and arms.

The employee is required to use hands to handle, operate, and feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to operate a motor vehicle to travel to off-site meetings.

The employee must have visual acuity sufficient to operate a motor vehicle and digital camera, as well as other office and position equipment.

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Employee must be able to hear and speak clearly in order to communicate with clients, coworkers, employees and vendors.


As an employee that may be required to enter our production facilities you may be exposed to allergenic ingredients including but not limited to fish, shellfish, nuts, eggs, wheat, soy, milk and tree nuts.
