Purpose:

Contributes to the overall success of the Global Business Payments/Money Transfer Operations department ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are exeEnsures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures


What you'll do:


  • Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
  • Responsible for prompt and efficient verification of repaired wire payment instructions received according to procedures governing these transfers. The payment instructions may be received electronically or manually. The verification officer is responsible for having detailed knowledge of wire payment formatting to ensure the error or formatting issue can be quickly identified and repaired.
  • He/she/they is required to proactively take part in process improvements and quality control for continuous improvement.
  • Work is completed in the most efficient manner to manage daily workflows including contributions to all queues in order to expedite execution of payments.
  • Seeks to clarify inconsistencies or review operator errors and participate in establishing "best practices" standards to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in daytoday activities and decisions.
  • Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of daytoday business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
  • Builds a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and, managing succession and development planning for the team.
